Pinterest Project Tuesdays: Wedding Invitation Ornament

Christmas is only 15 days away!!! WOO HOO!! I just love this time of year; the decorations, the music, the food, the spirit, SANTA, the movies and so much more! I wish I could keep the Christmas Tree up all year round. I asked Brent, but he said no.. SCROOGE! HA

IMG_5211I have been wanting to make this for a while ever since I saw the pin but last year I was so tired during my pregnancy that crafts went out the window but I am back this year! HA I had some wedding invitations left over so this was perfect use, a wedding invitation ornament. Here is the pin that inspired me.

photoI didn’t actually click on the pin so I am not sure where it takes you. I more just looked at the picture and thought WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Here is what I did to make my ornament.

What you will need:

  • Glass Ornament
  • Wedding invitation
  • Paper Cutter
  • Pen or pencil

IMG_5185First thing you do is cut your invitation into strips. I did 1/2 strips.

IMG_5187 IMG_5193Then wrap your strips around the pen or pencil to make them curly.

IMG_5194 IMG_5195 IMG_5197 IMG_5199 IMG_5201Next put them in your ornament. My ornaments all had SUPER small openings. I should have looked at them first but oh well. My pieces did stay to curly because of that.

IMG_5203 IMG_5207Finally put the topper back on and your done! Add to your tree! I add a piece of brown ribbon to mine.

IMG_5209 IMG_5213I still love the way it turned out, I just wish the pieces were a little more curly. I also made one of Colton’s Birth Announcement.

IMG_5218These were super easy to make and what a great use for extra invitation and announcements.

Until next time!

Love,

Jessica AKA Mrs.Ripple
