Pinterest Project Tuesdays: Hot Chocolate Mix Gift

I love Hot Chocolate, it is my go to drink in the winter time; especially since I don’t drink coffee. I wanted to make little gifts for my Mother-in-law and Sister-in-laws for Christmas. I was watching Bethenny one morning and it was about Homemade Gifts.

IMG_5755One of the gifts was a Hot Chocolate Mix and I just knew I had to make something like this! Here is the pin that inspired me.

photoThe pin takes you to the Bethenny shows website. I have loved Bethenny since she was on Real Housewives. I pretty much followed the instructions. Here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • Hot Chocolate Mix
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Glass Mason Jar
  • Red Ribbon
  • Hot Glue
  • Scissors
  • Red Letter Stickers
  • Snowflake Stickers
  • Red and White Paper Straws
  • Mini White Ornaments

IMG_5733The first thing you do is obviously wash your jars and lids. Make sure they are dry completely. I got my jars from Hobby Lobby. They did not come with lids but Wal-Mart sells Mason Jar Lids. Then fill each jar with 1 cup of Hot Chocolate mix.

IMG_5735 IMG_5737Then add a layer of Mini Chocolate Chips.

IMG_5738 IMG_5739Then fill the rest with Mini Marshmallows and add the lid.

IMG_5741 IMG_5743 IMG_5744Next add the first letter of the person’s name to the jar. I used my left over letter stickers from my Jingle Bells Block.

IMG_5746 IMG_5748

Next cover the lid with ribbon. I used my left over ribbon from my Christmas Card Holder. Hot glue the ribbon to the lid.

IMG_5749 IMG_5751Finally, I tied on the straw and ornament.

IMG_5752Super cute right? I think they came out great.

IMG_5753According to the instructions, you can add 1-2 cups of hot water or milk to the jar, shake and drink. I will def be making these again.

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings since 2013 was so great!

Until next time!

Love,

Jessica AKA Mrs. Ripple

p.s. the picture quality is way off due to the fact that I didn’t realize the settings got all changed! Oops!

Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt

When I was a kid, one of my favorite things to do during Christmas was go drive around and look  at Christmas Lights. Now that Colton is here, I wanted to make this a tradition of ours. While looking through Pinterest I saw this awesome Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt and I knew we had to do it!

IMG_5710So last Sunday, Brent, Colton, my Mother-in-law, my Sister-in-law Kelli, and I all piled into our car and set off to look at lights and complete our scavenger hunt. I made everyone Dinner Kits to enjoy in the car. We had Homemade French Bread Pizzas, Pretzel Bites (pretzels with Hershey kisses and M&Ms) and Hot Chocolate.

Little man slept the WHOLE time! IMG_5658We went to the super cool neighborhood called Prestonwood, where the whole neighborhood decorates!! We were able to find everything on the Scavenger Hunt List! Here is what we had to find!

30 before 30 Update: #26 Meet a Celebrity

Last week, Tuesday to be exact, I meet Ree Drummond!! Some may not know who this is but she is AWESOME! Ha Ree Drummond is known as the Pioneer Woman. As she says, she is a Blogger, Photographer, Mother, ans Accidental Country Girl. She hosts a cooking show on Food Network called Pioneer Woman, she is a mother of four and I just love her! I own all of her cookbooks and she just released a new book in October. She came to Houston to do a book signing and as soon as I saw she was coming I bought my book, I was the 11th person to be exact, and reserved my spot to meet her.

IMG_5498I was soo excited that day! I was counting down the clock until 6pm. Brent and little man joined me as I didn’t know how long it was going to take so they got to meet her too. We waited and waited and finally it was 6pm and we could go in!

IMG_5500She was so nice! She talked to everyone who came to meet her, she signed as much stuff as you would like, she took pictures with everyone and she was just perfection! I made her a little Christmas decoration, which she said loved and said she needs more stuff like this to decorate the lodge! I about died! HA

IMG_5502 IMG_5508 IMG_5515 IMG_5509 IMG_5510 IMG_5514All in all it was great meeting her because I love watching her show, her cookbooks and her! I am so happy that I had the chance to meet her! I even got one of her children books signed for Colton!

Until next time!

Pinterest Project Tuesdays: Christmas Decorations

I am officially obsessed with Christmas! I mean I have always loved Christmas but there is just something about this year. Maybe it is because Colton is here and it is his first Christmas. Who knows but I am embracing my love for the holidays and making some decorations for the home! This week I have three projects for you! Lets start with the first one; a Snowflake Foam Table Runner.

IMG_5323This was SOOOOO easy to make and so cheap. It cost $2.00, I mean could it get any cheaper? I think not. I had some old table decorations but they were pretty outdated and it was time to replace them. I didn’t really want to spend $20.00 on a new table runner so I saw this pin and I knew that I could make it. Here is the pin that inspired me.

photo 1The pin takes you to The Bombshell Bling. Which is a cute blog that has tons of tutorials, recipes and more! definitely go take a look at Sarah’s blog! I didn’t follow her tutorial per say I just followed the concept. Here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • Foam Snowflakes (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
  • Hot Glue

IMG_5298First thing you do is arrange the snowflakes in the way that you want. I staggered mine.

IMG_5319Then hot glue them to each other.

IMG_5300 IMG_5309IMG_5302BOOM! DONE!

IMG_5306 IMG_5322How easy right? I mean $2.00 and done it under 2 minutes! I love it!

IMG_5481The next project is a Jingle Bells Glass Block. I actually made two of these; I kept one for myself and gave the other away as a gift. Here is the pin that inspired me.

photo 2I didn’t click on the pin, I more just went with the idea of it. Here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • Large Glass Block
  • Small Red Jingle Bells
  • Large Silver Jingle Bells
  • Red Letter Stickers
  • Santa Sticker
  • Snowflake Stickers
  • Red and White Bow

IMG_5458The first thing you do it stick on the words Jingle Bells. I love love love these letter stickers I got from Hobby Lobby, the just look like Christmas to me. Also, add your Santa Sticker and the Snowflakes.

IMG_5462 IMG_5467Next add in the Silver and Red Jingle Bells. I used the entire case of Silver Bells but only some of the Red Bells. I mixed them around so that they were well mixed together.

IMG_5469 IMG_5470IMG_5471Then add the top on the block and add your bow. I used two different bows because I couldn’t choose which one I liked best.

IMG_5479AND DONE!

IMG_5566Super easy right. You can do this so many different ways. You can add lights in the box, or do something for a different holiday. I have seen a ton of different ideas on Pinterest.

IMG_5550The last project is a Christmas Card Holder. I never had a place to put the cards that we receive so I wanted to make something that would hold them so they weren’t just stacked in a pile. Here is the pin that inspired me.

photo 3The pin takes you to U Create Crafts. Which is a website that has TONS of crafts, recipes, kids crafts and so much more! Go take a look for sure! I pretty much followed what they did, except changed the frame a bit. Here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • Wood Frame
  • 6 Different types of Ribbon
  • Staple Gun
  • Scissors

IMG_5534First thing you do, is lay out your ribbon to get an idea of how you want to place it.

IMG_5537Then staple the ribbon on to the frame and cut off any excess. Make sure you pull it tight when you staple it down so that it can hold the weight of the cards and keep its shape. I weaved mine in different patterns.

IMG_5538 IMG_5539 IMG_5540 IMG_5542 IMG_5544Lastly, hang it where you want it displayed and your DONE!! I added some left over tulle pieces from my Turkey Wreath like she did. I used tiny clothespins to hold the cards in place.

IMG_5545 IMG_5549 IMG_5546 IMG_5556Super cute right???

IMG_5557I love how all of the projects turned out! I hope you give them a try!

Until next time!

Love,

Jessica AKA Mrs. Ripple

Christmas Bucket List

I am a little late on posting this but I thought it would be fun this year to create a bucket list of things I would like to do for Christmas! This is my favorite holiday and love all the activities that come with it! It is a little harder this year to do all the stuff that comes with Christmas with having a 6 month old, so I thought I would create a bucket list of all the main things I would like to do for Christmas! I can’t wait to do all these with my two favorite guys; Brent and Colton!

Here is my Christmas Bucket List! Preview of “Microsoft Word - Christmas Bucklist.docx”

Until next time!
