Michigan Here We Come!

That’s right! In a month or so we will be headed to Michigan!!! There is nothing better than Michigan in the fall time. It is just so beautiful time of year!! I am super excited to go because we didn’t plan on making it this year but I am super nervous as well. This will be Colton’s first trip anywhere on top of the fact this will be his first time on an airplane. My biggest fear is to be that family with the screaming baby! I mean I won’t be able to take him anywhere, we are stuck on the plane. I am sure Colton will do great!

916a702eb52eda89ebeecc66d0431b1fBring on the cider, donuts, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, leaves, trees, Bronner’s, Frankenmuth, scarves, boots and coats!! I just can’t wait!! The best part of it all is I get to do all these things for the first time with my little man!! It is going to be great!! Colton gets to see where I am from, even though he won’t remember it!

PicFrame-1On top of all that, Colton will get to meet a lot his family for the first time as well! It’s just going to be a great trip all together!! I just can’t wait!!

I hope you all are having a great Monday!!

Pinterest Project Tuesdays: Greeting Card Booklet

I love cards! I love getting cards and especially love giving cards! I keep Papryus is business. They have the cutest cards and they look homemade which I love. Back on track, like I said I love getting cards but I never know what to do with them once I receive them. They either sit in a drawer or a box. Eventually I just throw them away because I need the space.

IMG_3744This brings me to this weeks project, a Greeting Card Booklet! I wanted to do something with my cards that I received at my baby shower. I didn’t want to just shove them in Colton’s Baby Book and I remembered seeing a pin just for this!! Here is the pin that inspired me.

photo-19The pin takes you to Honeybear Lane. I super cute website with a tons of different crafts, recipes, fashion and more! Def have to check it out!! Her booklet was for her Christmas cards and it turned out super cute! I pretty much did the same thing as her; here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • Cards
  • Scissors
  • Decoration stuff for cover (I used stickers, bakers twine, and burlap flowers)
  • Chipboard x 2
  • Hole Punch
  • Binder Rings

IMG_3494First thing you do is find the biggest card you have to make the covers.

IMG_3506Cut the chipboard to the size of that card.

IMG_3527 IMG_3530Then punch the holes into the covers, I did three holes.

IMG_3537 IMG_3540Then decorate your covers.

IMG_3541 IMG_3600 IMG_3601Next punch holes into all the cards.

IMG_3616 IMG_3629 IMG_3730Clip together all the cards

IMG_3734 IMG_3735 IMG_3736Super cute right!! I just love being able to display all the cards and being able to keep them. I only had 1 1/2 in rings, which are a tad too small so I will have to find some 2 in rings.

I do hope you give it a try!!

Until next time!

Newborn Essentials

I am a little late on posting this since little man is now 2 months but here it is anyways! 🙂 When Colton was a wee newborn there were a few products that we really depended on and made our life a lot easier. Here is what worked for us, others might have other essentials but these were ours!

Newborn Essentials

Fisher-Price My Little Snugabunny Bouncer – Colton LOVED his bouncer from the get go. It was great for him to nap in, to just relax in  and for us to have a break in holding him. This bouncer has two different music sounds and vibrates. THe only downfall is that it goes through batteries.

Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets – these were the best to swaddle with! The are not too heavy and are very breathable. To be honest, I wouldn’t by any other blanket but these. I have  ton of blankets and we haven’t even touched them.

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Pacifiers 0-6m – Colton took to these pacifiers and they have been great! He liked the 0-6m better than the 0-3m ones though.

Fisher-Price My Little Snugabuny Newborn Rock n’ Play Sleeper – This thing is perfect!! Baby boy has been sleeping in it since we brought him home. Its light weight, doesn’t take up that much room and folds for easy storage. Plus the entire cover is washable!

Carter’s Cotton Zip-up Sleep & Play Pajamas – OMG are the zippers so much easier than the snaps. Those late night changes are pain when you are trying to snap together the other pajamas. The zip-up pajamas are def my favorite and plus they are cute!

Boppy – Perfect for nursing! There are a ton of different cover choices and machine washable!

Gerber Newborn Bidseye Prefold Diapers – We are not a cloth diaper family but we use these for burp cloths. They are perfect to go over your shoulder to burp or to wipe up some spit up.

Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion – We started Colton on a different lotion but he was getting a rash from it, so we tried this lotion and loved it. It dries quickly and is fragrance free which is good for babies sensitive skin.

Itzbeen Pocket Nanny – what a lifesaver this was during the first month! It keeps track of the last diaper change, lasted feeding, last side you fed on and more. Perfect of sleep deprived mammas.

Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers Sensitive Wipes – Each baby is different (duh..) but this are the diapers that worked for us. We never had a blow out (knock on wood), just a couple of pee pee leeks when daddy we didn’t put the diaper on right.

That’s it! If I was having a baby all over again, I would be registering for all of these items. We wouldn’t have made it through the first month with out them! Well we would have but we wouldn’t be happy campers!!

Until next time!

Pinterest Project Tuesday: Wedding Ring Holder

Can you believe it is already September 10th?? This year is going by so fast, my little man in almost 3 months. Time is going by way too fast. Okay, moving forward to this weeks project!!

IMG_3481Having Colton makes it a little harder to do crafts, so I have been looking for easy and quick projects to do. As soon as I saw this pin, I knew I had to do it! This weeks project is a wedding ring or any ring really holder. What girl doesn’t want to have a special place for her wedding/engagement ring? Its only the most important piece of jewelery so why not have special place to display it? This was a quick project and I loved how it turned out! Here is the pin that inspired this weeks project.

photo-18The pin takes you to Saucy Pants, which is more a food blog but they have some crafts. If you’re looking for recipes, this is a place to go! I followed the concept of their holder but mine obviously looks different!

Here is what I did for my holder.

What you will need:

  • Frame
  • Cork Board
  • Straight Pin
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue
  • Burlap or backing of choice
  • Ring

IMG_3425First thing you do, is cut your burlap or backing to fit your frame and take out all the frame stuffing

IMG_3430 IMG_3434IMG_3436Then cut a small piece of cork board

IMG_3437 IMG_3438Next you will hot glue your cork board to your frame stuffing. I glued mine to the little piece of cardboard that was in the frame.

IMG_3441 IMG_3443Put your burlap in the frame (do not replace the glass) and then put in the cardboard piece with the cork board.

IMG_3447 IMG_3448Then push in your straight pin

IMG_3451 IMG_3454 IMG_3456Add your ring and your done!!!

IMG_3460I have mine on my nightstand.

IMG_3479 IMG_3481 IMG_3480This was a such a quick and easy project! I loved how it turned out and it looks great on my nightstand. I hope you give it a try and display your pretty rings!

Until next time!

August Cara Box

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend! Sorry I have been absent, my little man wasn’t feeling all that good the last week or so, poor guy got a cold. He has been pretty demanding, wouldn’t let me to put him down but he is starting to feel a better and giving me some free time.

Any who, I had the pleasure of participating in the Cara Box Exchange again this month. I had to take a couple of months off with having Colton but I am back. This was my third exchange and each time it becomes more fun! To find out more about the Cara Box Exchange, you can check out my first exchange here. You can participate regardless if you are a blogger or not! Check it out if you are interested.

The theme for August’s box was “Seasons of Life”. There really wasn’t a specific theme this month, it was more about getting to know your partner and sending them stuff that they would personally love. We were paired up with partners in the same age and stage of life.

This month I was paired with two lovely ladies! I sent my box to Cindy from My Bellavida. I had the pleasure of getting to know her better, she was my first Cara Box exchange partner. I had a blast putting together her box once again! Head over to her blog to see what I sent her!

I received my box from Sara over at the Dragman’s Journey! It was so nice getting to know her and read her blog! Plus she sent an awesome box!! She really paid attention to my likes!
