Pinterest Project Tuesday: Cookie Cake Ice Cream Sundae

Last Sunday, we celebrated Brent’s coming up birthday this week with some of his family. We went out to dinner and then came back to our house for dessert. When I asked him what he would want he asked for like 15 things! One being Creme Brulee HA I told him I could only make one dessert with the baby so he picked a cookie cake.

IMG_3364I am an avid reader of the Pioneer Woman’s blog and last week she posted about a party for her daughter’s birthday and the dessert was a cookie cake ice cream sundae, which I pinned for future use! So I went right to that pin and got the directions for the cake! Here is the pin that inspired me.

photo-17Like I said it is from Pioneer Woman. If you love food then you should follow her blog! Plus she takes great pictures. You can also catch her on Food Network, which I watch as well. All her stuff is really easy to make and she doesn’t use anything crazy that you have to go to a specialty store for. Check her out. I followed her recipe for the cake to the T. Well actually I added more chocolate chips.

Here is what I did.

What you will need:

  • 2 sticks of Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup of Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups of Flour
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of Instant Coffee Granules
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Salt
  • 12 ounces of Chocolate Chips

IMG_3301First thing you do is preheat your oven to 375 degrees and prepare your 9 x 13 baking sheet.Spray a little cooking spray to prevent sticking.

IMG_3339Then cream together your butter, brown sugar and sugar together in your mixer. Make sure your butter is softened or it will be harder to mix this together.

IMG_3304 IMG_3312Then add your eggs, one at a time mixing well after each one.

IMG_3314Then add your vanilla and mix until combined.

IMG_3316In a separate bowl, stir together your flour, instant coffee, baking soda and salt.

IMG_3319 IMG_3322Then slowly start adding your dry ingredients into your wet. Make sure you don’t have your mixer on too high or your will have your dry ingredients everywhere!

IMG_3330 IMG_3333Once all your dry ingredients are incorporated and the batter is mixed, add in your chocolate chips.

IMG_3337 IMG_3338Then pour your batter onto the cookie sheet.

IMG_3342Spread it out evenly and flat.

IMG_3344 IMG_3347 IMG_3348Bake for 16-20 minutes or until done. You want to let it cool so that you can cut and get the cookie out in a piece.

IMG_3363Add your desired toppings and enjoy! This was Brent’s, he wanted just ice cream and caramel sauce. I added the candles!

IMG_3364The cookie was super yummy and super easy to make! I will def do this again!

I hope you give it a try!

Until next time!

Pinterest Project Tuesdays: Personalized Fabric Covered Wall Canvas

Happy Tuesday everyone!! I hope you all had a great week and a wonderful Monday. Colton and I did, we ran some errands together and then he napped while I worked on his baby book. I can’t believe that tomorrow he will be 2 months old!! Time is going by way too fast!

This weeks project was something I did for Colton’s Nursery; it is Personalized Fabric Covered Wall Canvas. I knew right away when I saw this on Pinterest that I wanted to make it for the Nursery. I just love the way they turned out and it was perfect for us to put over the crib. I originally wanted shelves but Brent was against it so I moved somethings around and I am happy that I did!

IMG_3186Here is the pin that inspired me! The pin takes you to Newly Woodwards, which is a personal blog by Kim. She blogs all about her family and their lives. It is a super cute blog, you should def take a look at it!! I pretty much followed her concept, I just changed the colors and fabrics.

photo-16Here is what I did!

What you will need:

  • 4 – 12×12 Canvas
  • Staple Gun
  • Wood Letter
  • Scissors
  • 4 Different Fabrics, 1/2 yard
  • Name
  • Hot Glue

IMG_2587First thing you want to do is cover the canvas with fabric using the staple gun.

IMG_2589 IMG_2590 IMG_2593Then cut off the excess fabric.

IMG_2596 IMG_2601 IMG_2603Add your letter to the canvas of your choice using hot glue.

IMG_2608 IMG_2660Then add the name to a different canvas of your choice using hot glue.

IMG_2661 IMG_2662AND your done!! All you have to do after that is add it to the wall!

IMG_2668It is a super easy project and adds a ton of color and personality to the room. I just love them and I am so happy I did them.

Pinterest Project Tuesday: Nurse’s Gift

This weeks project was super easy and a ton of fun!! It is a gift for your nurses/doctors at the hospital. M&M Peanut Nurses Gift!

IMG_2626During our Childbirth classes, I realized how many nurses where going to be helping/taking care of us in the hospital when I gave birth to Colton. I wanted to do something small for all of them so to Pintererst I went. I started searching ideas and there were a ton! As soon as I saw this pin, I knew it was the one I wanted to do for our nurses! Here is the pin that inspired me!

photo-15I didn’t go to the website, I just looked at the pin. I wanted to make my own labels so that’s why I didn’t see where the pin took me. SORRY!

Here is what I did for my gifts:

What you will need:

  • Peanut M&Ms (I did 12)
  • Bakers Twine
  • Scissors
  • Tags
  • Whole Punch

IMG_2610The first thing I did was cut out my tags. I made my own in Word. Unfortunately, I didn’t save the document or else I would have posted it.

IMG_2612 IMG_2613Then I punched holes at the top.

IMG_2614 IMG_2615 IMG_2616Then tie the tag to a pack of M&Ms

IMG_2617 IMG_2619 IMG_2625DONE!

IMG_2618 IMG_2626 IMG_2628So easy right? The nurses and doctors really appreciated it and I think I even got preferential treatment because of it! HA Just kidding but they really did seem to appreciate the fact that I thought about them. Brent really enjoyed handing them out! HA

Give them a shot and make someone smile! You could even use these as a daycare gift or teacher gift.

Until next time!

Little Man’s ABC Nursery

Happy Monday everyone!! Sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks. I was spending some quality time with my little man! He changes everyday, its crazy! He is just sooo cute!!

When we found out we were having a boy I started thinking about his nursery. When I first registered, I picked an animal theme but it just never felt right. So I kept looking at bedding and ideas online, that is when I found some pictures of ABC nurseries and I knew that was what I wanted to do! From there I just started searching for bedding and decorations.  Here was my nursery inspiration, you can read more about it here.

Colton's Nursery Design

Without further ado, here is Colton’s nursery!

I want to give a BIG thank you to all the people who help get Colton’s room ready; Joey, Stephanie, Jolene, Lamar, Hope, Danny, and Morgan! Without you guys the nursery would look nothing like this!!

Until next time!
